West Highland White Terrier

        The West Highland White Terrier, nicknamed “Westie”, has been becoming more and more popular.  He has a short coat that dries quickly after a bath, and it gets dirty easily.  The male weighs 19 pounds and is 11 inches tall, so they’re neither heavy nor large.  The female weighs 16½ pounds, and she also is 11 inches, s there’s not much of a difference.  Despite their small size, these dogs are also a surprisingly good guard!  They tend to have a shrill bark which can warn off strangers, but this may not be helpful when friends drop by.  They will be a good alarm system as well as meet the expectations of being a dog for both families of singles.
