Rhodesian Ridgeback

        For this breed, the native country is not known.  If there is a place like Rhode Island, that may be it.  Wherever it is, he’s a guard dog there.  He has a dagger shaped ridge on his back, and that gives him his name.  The male is 25-26 inches, and he weighs 80 ½ pounds.  The female is about 24-26 inches, and she weighs about 70 ½ pounds.  The puppies are very cute, and they are orange with a white chest spot, like the adult.  These are big, powerful dogs, and you wouldn’t want to try to tame one from the wild.
