Plott
The Plott is a hunting hound with
striking color. The coat is fine and glossy, but thick enough to provide
protection from wind and water, colored any shade of brindle. The males should
be 20-25 inches tall at the withers, and weigh 50-60 pounds. The females should
be 20-23 inches at the withers, and they should weigh 40-55 pounds. Sometimes,
these dogs will have an identification mark on their rear, used to identify
them during a hunt. They are powerful, streamlined, and muscular. They are eager
to please, intelligent, loyal, alert, and have an even temperament.
