Pharaoh Hound

        The Pharaoh Hound is an Egyptian-style hound, even though the breed now comes from Malta.  This breed is pretty heavy, weighing 44-55 pounds.  The male is about 22 inches, and the female is about 21.  Their coat is very short, and easy to groom.  It’s usually a tan color to reddish brown, and it’s not good protection against the cold.  He loves exercise, and will listen to the trainer who trained him.  He is an intelligent and alert dog, and might be a good dog to show off in a dog show.
