Maremma Sheepdog

        The Maremma Sheepdog is Italy’s version of a sheep guard.  He has been derived from generations of guard dogs.  He has been seen in Britain, but not the U.S. yet.  His coat is of medium length, and it is white with just a touch of fawn.  They are sized in the “large” category; the male is 25½-29 inches, and the female is 24-27½ inches tall.  The male weighs 77-99 pounds, and the female weighs 66-88 pounds.  They are lively and active, and they need lots of exercise to keep the muscles that they have.
