Flat-Coated Retriever
This dog is
the lightest built of the Retriever group, with an exception of the Nova Scotia Duck-Tolling
Retriever. It is somewhat like the Curly
Coated Retriever, except only with a flat
coat. Their shiny and silky flat coats are colored
black, liver, and an extremely rare yellow.
They are also fairly medium height dogs, with the male at 23-24 inches
tall, and the female at 22-23 inches.
They weigh pretty much appropriate weights for their heights, with the
male at55-77 pounds, and the female at 55-75 pounds. These dogs also don’t cost much to feed,
groom, and doesn’t need that much exercise.
These dogs make good house pets for those who get a lot of exercise or
who live in the country, but either way, they make kindly pets.
