Chihuahua

        The Chihuahua is another popular Toy breed.  He originated in South America, and is named after a Mexican state.  There are actually a long-haired version and a short-haired version.  Their coats can be either short of medium, and they can be colored almost any color, although the most common are fawn to red with white.  They are, again, the same size and weight in both genders.  They are 6-9 inches tall, and they weigh 2-6½ pounds.  They are spirited and intelligent, and proof of this is that he carries his tail like a flag, high over his back.
