Basset
Fauve de Bretagne
One of the
shortest France-originated bassets is the Basset Fauve de Bretagne. He stands about 12 ½-15 inches high, and
weighs anywhere from 35 pounds to 39 ½ pounds.
His coat is usually a reddish fawn color, and it’s tough-textured. However, he does need a bath more often, for
he picks up bad smells easily! He loves
hunting, and has surprising speed. Once
he starts chasing a rabbit, he might not listen to his owner commanding him
back to base! He really enjoys people as
well as life, and is a natural for a family.
He is a greedy dog, but not about his food.
