Alaskan Malamute
The Alaskan Malamute is the heaviest of the sled dogs. He is powerful, like all other sled dogs, and can pull a sled in sub-zero temperatures. He was also named after the Mahlemuts, an Innuit tribe. Both genders of the breeds are heavy, weighing 84- 123½ pounds. The male is 25-28 inches tall, and the female is 23-26 inches tall. The coat is medium, and can be colored anywhere from grey to black, gold to red and liver with white. He is reasonably amenable, but when on a leash, he can pull a lot!
