Sizes: XS (S, MEDIUM, L, XL) FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust: 36 (38, 40, 42, 43.5) inches. Length: 18 (19, 20, 21, 22) inches. Materials: 9 (13.5, 13.5, 13.5, 18) ounces of Falling Leaves yarn for color A, 10 (10, 15, 15, 15) ounces of Port Wine for B, Size 8 straight knitting needles, size 6 straight knitting needles. SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS: Yb: Yarn back. STITCHES USED: Ribbing: Row 1 (wrong side): With yarn in front, slip the first stitch purlwise, then purl 14. Row 2: As Row 1. Row 3: With yarn in front, slip the first stitch purllwise, yb, knit 14. Row 4: As Row 2. Repeat Rows 1-4 for Ribbing. Body Pattern: Row 1 (wrong side): With color B, knit. Row 2: Knit 2 stitches with color B, (knit 2 with A, knit 2 with B) across. Row 3: Purl 2 with B, purl 2 with A, purl 2 with B across. Row 4: Knit 2 with A, (knit 2 with B, knit 2 with A) across. Row 5: Purl 2 with A, (purl 2 with B, purl 2 with A) across. Rows 6-7: Repeat Rows 2-3. Row 8: With color B, knit. Repeat rows 1-8 for Body Pattern. INSTRUCTIONS: BACK: Ribbing: With smaller needles and color A, cast on 15 stitches. Work Ribbings rows 1-4 for 40 (42, 44, 46, 48) times. Repeat Row 1 again. Bind off knitwise. Upper Body: With the right side facing you, using smaller needles and color B, pick up and knit 82 (86, 90, 94, 98) stitches evenly spaced along one side of ribbing. Change to larger needles and begin Body Pattern. Work even to approx. 10.5 (11, 11.5, 12) inches from the beginning, ending with a wrong side row. Armhole Shaping: Bind off 12 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Work even on 58 (62, 66, 70, 74) stitches to approx. 18 (19, 20, 21, 22) inches from beginning, ending with a wrong side row. Shoulder and Neck Shaping: Bind off 15 (16, 17, 18, 19) stitches on each shoulder edge once. Bind off remaining 28 (30, 32, 34, 36) stitches. FRONT: Work as for Back to approx. 15.5 (16.5, 17.5, 18.5, 19.5) inches from beginning, ending with a wrong side row. Neck Shaping: Pattern across first 21 (22, 23, 24, 25) stitches; join a new ball and bind off center 16 (18, 20, 22, 24) stitches; work to the end of the row. Working sides seperately and at the same time, bind off at each neck edge 3 stitches once, 2 stitches once, and 1 stitch once. Continue in pattern on remaining 15 (16, 17, 18, 19) stitches until piec measures same length as Back, ending with a wrong side row. Bind off the reamining stitches on each shoulder. SLEEVES (make two): With smaller needles and color A, cast on 15 stitches. Work Ribbing Rows 1-4 for 22 (22, 22, 22, 24, 24) times. Repeat Row 1 again. Bind off knitwise. With right side facing you using smaller needles and color B, pick up and knit 46 (46, 46, 50, 50) stitches evenly spaced along edge. Including new stitches into pattern as they accumulate, increase 1 stitch each edge now and every 4th row 0 (0, 4, 4, 8) times, every 6th row 1 (12, 10, 10, 8) times, and every 8th row 8 (0, 0, 0, 0) times. Work even on 66 (72, 76, 80, 84) stitches to approx. 21.5 (21.5, 22, 22.5, 23) inches from beginning, ending with a wrong side row. Bind off. FINISHING: Join shoulder seams. Set in sleeves, sewing bound off stitches to sleeve sides for square armholes. Join underarm and side seams. Neckband: With smaller needles and color A, cast on 15 stitches. Work Ribbing Rows 1-4 until neckband when slightly streched fits around neck opening. Repeat Row 1 and bind off. Sew shor edges together. Pin neckband around neck, placing seam at center back. Sew in place.
