 The Parson Russell Terrier was developed
in Europe, designed to work European fox both above
and below ground. The coat is double with a good sheen, and is colored white,
white with black or tan markings, or tri-color. The males should be 14 inches
high at the shoulder blade, and weigh between 13-17 pounds. The female is 13 inches
high at the shoulder blade, and she also weighs between 13-17 pounds. The Parson
Russell Terrier was named for the Reverend John Russell when it was developed
in the 1880’s. They should be bold and friendly, athletic and clever, a good
hunter, and at home an energetic companion.
